So you decided to work with IMPACTMBA - that's great news!

Before we start to write even a single word, we have some serious planning to do. The Planning phase includes 6 activities: Researching Business Schools, Scheduling, Career Planning, Achievements Drill-Down^TM,  Application Structure, and Recommendations Selection Strategy.

Once all those activities will be behind us, we can get to the real deal - Writing. It will take us 2-4 weeks to complete the Planning phase, depending on your requirements and selections.

Researching Business Schools

After deciding which business schools you want to apply, and especially when you are not entirely sure, doing your research will be a crucial part of your ability to communicate your intentions and goals in your applications. This activity will be done mostly by you, with IMPACTMBA guidance of course. You need to be sure that your selection is right for you, and that you know what excites you about your selected MBA programs, and what makes those business schools unique.

• Speak and chat with as many alumni and students as possible, to get infected by their enthusiasm of their MBA experience. Attend MBA fairs and events.

• Visit the program's website to collect as much information as possible, and to understand the admissions criteria.

• Contact the school with any important question that you have regarding your specific situation (of course consult us before contacting the school - you need to be careful here).

• Visit the school - talk to students, and get a sense of the atmosphere, attend classes, and show the school that you are interested.

• Learn about career services and placement reports, accommodations, student life, student clubs, scholarships and loans, the curriculum, faculty, and extra-curricular activities.

Scheduling

IMPACTMBA will build a schedule for you, based on our experience and best practices. Before the deadline you should complete writing several essays, arrange two or three recommendations, constructing a CV, and complete application forms. Those tasks can become difficult to manage, especially when you are working and have other things on your mind. If you plan to apply to several business schools the problem becomes even more significant.

We manage your MBA applications as a project, and for that reason we set a comprehensive action plan and time line, in order to verify that we are on track. The schedule is flexible and can be changed at any times to accommodate your needs.

Career Planning

One of the most important messages you will deliver is your career goals and aspirations. This component will appear again and again in your essays and interviews. The topic selections, the application structure, the reasoning behind the MBA, will all be connected to your goals and plans.

IMPACTMBA will help you construct the most effective career plan to get you admitted into the MBA. We have the experience and expertise to select from the various alternatives the career plan that will send the right consistent signal to the admissions committees - the alternative that will be regarded most highly by them. This selection will prove important in creating an impactful application.

Achievements Drill-Down ^TM

Before writing your application, IMPACTMBA will get to know you better. Together, in a brain-storming session, we will compile a comprehensive list of all your achievements, with a special technique to extract targeted information that is of greater interest to the MBA Admissions Committee.

Based on this most important step in the process, we will be able to extract the most impactful stories, showing your most impactful skills, and revealing your underlying personality and traits. Once the Achievement Drill-Down ^TM is completed you will be able to see more clearly what you are going to write about.

Application Structure

Every MBA program is different. The Admission Committees are looking for different types of applicants, different traits and backgrounds, and different strengths. Each application will have different questions to answer, different essays to write, and different skills, traits and achievements to highlight.

However, IMPACTMBA will create a generic impactful structure based on your achievements and career planning, to answer the most common questions. You must show different aspects of your personality, experience, and passions, and for that reason we will step back from the individual essays, and conduct a targeted topic selection to make sure that all your angles are clearly covered in your application.

After we structure your application, we will go through each of your business schools, and for each of the essays in those application, and prepare a comprehensive structure for each of the essays. The structure will include topics selection, paragraphs structure, and messages to deliver in the essay. The rest of the work on the essays will be done in the Writing phase.

Recommendations Selection Strategy

All MBA applications requires you to submit two or three letters of recommendations. Those recommendations are in English, generally very long (2-3 pages), and answer very specific set of questions. Like the essays, each business school defines a different set of questions for your reference to answer.

The strategy starts with the selection of your recommenders. IMPACTMBA will help you choose appropriate recommenders that will increase your chances of acceptance. We will guide you through the process of contacting your references and guide you through your interactions with them.

It is considered extremely unethical to have any influence on the contents of letters of recommendations. You are not even able to see the recommendations before they are sent to Admissions. The universities are very strict in this regard. However, IMPACTMBA can help you ensure that the letters of recommendations are impactful and aligned with the messages you deliver in your essays. And without violating the ethical standards!
